A Texas student was expelled from his high school after refusing to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Texas state law requires all students to stand and recite the pledge unless specifically opted out by a parent--one of twenty-six other states with similar laws. The student has brought a suit against the school, claiming the law violates his First Amendment Rights.
